Books are one of the greatest gifts bestowed upon mankind.
Oprah, Deepak Chopra, Eckhart Tolle, and Shirley McClain have been some of the best spiritual pioneers of our time.
When a person lifts up one, they in fact lift up all.
My latest favorite reads has been "Man's Search for Meaning", "Eat, Pray, Love", and "The Power of Now".
The documentary "I AM" is hands down the best film I have ever had the privilege of viewing.
And it explains EXACTLY what I believe to be true.
To shatter all illusions (especially the illusion of separation) is mankinds greatest but most important task.
Without it, mankind will not survive.
There are many paths to God but all ultimately arrive at the same destination.
It isn't about what you ask out of life but rather, what life ask out of you.
I'm learning...life goes by fast, taking risks is essential, no one is perfect, and in the end it's completely worth it.

The Chronicles of Charlie
Dear Diary-
The "Authority" has a viscious twin (well, they may not exactly be twins but they are definitely related). This ferocious monster is louder and faster than the Authority! It also possesses a ravenous appetite. This creature lives outdoors and eats the green carpet that grows outside. It also has very sharp teeth and the scent it leaves behind makes me sneeze. Because of its pointy teeth I did not make any attempt to try and bite it...instead I let it pull a man behind it. I hope he made it out alive.

The Chronicles of Charlie
Dear Momma Jo-
Why do you allow the little person to chew on my dog bones? Are you trying to teach her how to be a dog? Honestly I think you should give up--she really doesn't have enough hair to pull it off.
Love,
Charlie

The Chronicles of Charlie
Dear Diary-
I have discovered one of the greatest inventions of all time! Initially I “borrowed” it from the little person Momma Jo babysits (who for reasons unknown crawls rather than walks) when she dropped her round, rubber plug. Oh the joy upon finding this chewy object Mamma Jo calls a “binky”. Because I thought I would get into trouble for "borrowing" it, I hid it first in my kennel then in my bed. Mamma Jo must have previously worked as a detective because she quickly discovered my carefully hidden possession. But as luck would have it, she gave it to me as the little person had an extra one! Now I am free to play with it for all times!
P.S. I truly believe the rubber plug is a dog toy…I don’t understand why Momma Jo would give it to a little person.
Sincerely,
Charlie

The Chronicles of Charlie
Dear diary-
I came face to face with The Authority this weekend. The Authority is a vicious, shiny black, roaring monster. It has a very long tail and ferociously sucks up everything in its path. My family kept touching it and I believe it was in an effort to calm the angered beast. It quickly became apparent that The Authority was winning this battle- for it pulled them along to each room in the house. In an attempt to save my family from its murderous grip, I began barking and biting at it. At first this seemed to do little, however, after snapping at it (as it led me around the house) it eventually went silent. I think I killed it.
Sincerely,
Charlie
Charlie
Despite our early reservations in adopting a new puppy so soon after Izzie's death, my mother (of all people) discovered an eight-month-old female Maltese in need of a forever family. This particular puppy was recently sold back to the breeder as the owner was experiencing some difficult life situations. After much discussion, we decided to adopt this fluffy white little girl and provide her with a permanent family. "Charlie" has adapted well and we love her dearly. Pictures will be posted soon (we are letting her hair grow back out as she had to be shaved due to some matting when she was placed with us). Until then, enjoy Charlie's posts on The Chronicles of Charlie ^_^
Izzie
We recently lost our sweet baby Izzie after she accidentally escaped through the front door. Unfortunately, Izzie ran straight into oncoming traffic, instantly shattering her pelvis. Upon arriving at the vet, our worst fears were confirmed- Izzie was unable to move from the waist down. Naturally devastated and beside ourselves with grief we have pledged to honor Izzie's memory by donating our time each Saturday at the Wolfe Run Refuge Reserve in Nicholasville, KY. Izzie-our four years with you touched us deeply.
Until we meet again, hugs and wet puppy kisses,
S
